summary

Comparing keratometry data of ZEISS IOLMaster 700 vs. Scheimpflug devices

The number of post LVC patients is growing and total corneal power measurements have become very relevant to calculate precise IOL power in such patients.

Total corneal power and posterior corneal values are acquired with various devices through different approaches. No more assumptions on the posterior keratometry values are therefore needed – devices are now able to directly measure the posterior cornea.

But are these values from different devices values fully comparable? And are they directly compatible with existing IOL formulas without additional conversion? Which values should surgeons consider, and how can surgeons and patients benefit from SWEPT Source Biometry and Total Keratometry values?
