The Zeiss-Planetarium in Jena was opened on July 18, 1926 and is today the oldest independent planetarium in the world. In its almost one hundred year history, it has undergone numerous technical upgrades, conversions and expansions. The planetarium is the biggest tourist attraction in the city of Jena. With its diverse programs and events, it attracts attention time and again. Since 2007, the planetarium has been the venue of the most important international FullDome Festival.
