With Uniview you can bring interactive, three-dimensional visualizations and simulations using mainly astronomical databases into your dome in real time. You can present astronomical basics, astrophysical facts, geoscience and a variety of other scientific contexts to your visitors in a vivid and exciting way. The simple operation of the software is ideal for live presentations. The operator can start immediately and without a long training period, using the software. Uniview also offers you the tools to create complex scenes or even entire fulldome shows. The software is available as an application for both fulldome and classic display solutions.

The learning-specific potential of UNIVIEW Theater is nearly unlimited. It comes from the large number of object data and their relationships to each other. Astronomical connections are made comprehensible by combining perspective views and the approach to the objects in the sky. You can approach each object with a virtual “jump” or simulate a continuous virtual flight.

UNIVIEW contains a great wealth of data for visualization. In addition, users can include their own data. Download modules from the Uniview User Site and share your own data with other users - for free.

User-friendly Interface with Intuitive Operation

Control of all visualizations is accomplished via the graphical user interface. Operations like navigation (flight), rotation, position changes, visualization of objects etc. are displayed in real time in the main window. Navigation in space is so simple that even children attending planetarium events can navigate through the universe.

Open Dome (Option)

New Perspectives for your Dome

UNIVIEW Open Dome builds a bridge from any computer application to dome projection, in real time, in highest resolution and with an absolutely smooth frame rate. You do not have to worry about channel splitting, warping and blending and you do not have to render the images in advance. Whether you want to use popular astronomical programs such as Stellarium, software for real-time music visualization (VJ), or project a guest speaker’s Powerpoint presentation onto the dome, UNIVIEW Open Dome provides the solution.

Connect and get started

Connect an external computer to your ZEISS UNIVIEW cluster via the display port. Open the Open Dome function in Uniview and start the desired application on your external computer. The application is already playing on your dome. You can crossfade between the external content and the Uniview live rendering or present both simultaneously.

Professional Production of Scenes for Playback

UNIVIEW Producer makes it possible to create sequences for playback. You can play back sequences in real time while retaining interactive navigation capabilities or render them to create smaller clips or entire shows. The software offers a graphical user interface with a timeline and keyframes. Import data and production elements such as images, text, video and audio files.

Domecasting symbolic picture

UNIVIEW allows you to establish online links to other planetariums and exchange Uniview presentations. Via such a link you can present, remotely, your own content elsewhere or show someone else’s content in your own dome theater. An online session can also involve more than two Uniview installations.

Integration of Your Own and External Data

UNIVIEW is not a "sealed" software. You can add your own modules or modules from other users, integrate individual objects or include map data (WMS) from online sources. Selected content can be updated as needed. Data can also come from areas unrelated to astronomy. For example, Uniview users have already created their own three-dimensional objects for architectural simulations or archaeological representations.
