Thanks to this innovation, the edge thickness of the lens can be reduced by up to 30% for optimal vision and comfortable wear.2

  • Good prescription sunglasses should reduce glare and provide full UV protection up to 400 nm—the standard set by the World Health Organization. They should help you see clearly with optics that are optimized for your outdoor activities. They should be thin and light, durable, and easy to clean.   • The mirror effect on sunglasses is applied through a special lens coating. It consists of thin metal layers that add extra glare protection in addition to a very cool look. They help to bounce light away to keep it from reflecting into your eyes. Polarized mirror sunglasses are great for sports in which athletes are challenged by a lot of glare, like skiing, cycling, motorsports, and almost all water sports.  

  • We craft our prescription sunglass lenses specifically for you and your eyes, your style, and frame. But some frame designs aren’t ideal for prescription lenses. When choosing your frame, it’s important to think about the thickness and weight of your lenses, how they sit on your face, or whether you need your sunglasses for special activities. If you have sunglasses you love, we may be able to craft prescription lenses for this pair using our “tint-to-sample” process. For the best vision experience, ask your ZEISS eye care professional—they’ll be happy to help you find the right fit.
