SLAS Europe 2026

19 May 2026 - 21 May 2026
Vienna Congress & Convention Center | Vienna, Austria

The SLAS Europe 2026 Conference and Exhibition is one of the key European industry events for life sciences and laboratory automation. Taking place in Vienna from May 19 to 21, 2026, it brings together researchers, technology providers, and industry representatives, offering a platform for professional exchange, scientific contributions, and insights into current developments in drug discovery, laboratory automation, and screening & diagnostics.

We show how pharmaceutical companies can take the next step toward AI-driven research and development: moving away from isolated predictive models and toward scalable, operationalized AI-driven closed-loop drug development strategies with autonomous labs. Many organizations already possess valuable scientific data and initial AI models. What is often missing, however, is the integrating IT architecture needed to translate this potential into fully automated end-to-end R&D processes.

This is exactly where we come in: we design an IT architecture tailored to your existing system landscape that enables a closed, iterative process — from internal and published data, to predictive models, to the translation of their outputs into autonomously orchestrated laboratory experiments, and finally to feeding the generated data back into continuous model improvement.

This creates the foundation for AI-driven development processes that reduce time to market, lower costs, and measurably improve success in research and development.

Future Labs Live 2026

Future Labs Live is Europe’s leading laboratory innovation event, held 27–28 May 2026 at the Congress Centre Basel. The two-day conference and exhibition unites lab professionals, executives, start-ups and technology providers to explore cutting-edge topics such as automation, AI, digital transformation, sustainability, data management and lab operations. It fosters knowledge exchange, networking and collaboration across the global lab ecosystem.

Talk by Dr. Max Rockstroh

Interoperability is a key enabler of laboratory digitalization, automation, and AI-driven analyses. This presentation outlines the stages of interoperability based on international definitions and examines how connectivity, data management standards, and digital transformation enable seamless system integration.

Particular emphasis is placed on the interplay between syntactic and semantic interoperability in automated laboratories to ensure consistent data interpretation across workflows involving heterogeneous devices and systems.

Through practical examples, we demonstrate how enhanced interoperability supports efficient data exchange and collaboration, fostering innovation in laboratory environments.

Attendees will gain insights into the strategic relevance of interoperability for automation and AI-driven pharmaceutical R&D.

Thingkathon

Distributed AI for Predictive Maintenance

June 23–25, 2026
Infineon Technologies, Dresden

From June 23 to 25, 2026, ZEISS Digital Innovation, Infineon Technologies, and Smart Systems Hub will bring together interdisciplinary teams to tackle a key challenge in semiconductor manufacturing: the intelligent use of sensor data for predictive maintenance.

In a three-day hackathon format, participants from software engineering, data science, research, and industry will develop practical prototypes and architectural approaches based on real data and technologies. The focus is on building an edge-to-cloud AI pipeline using distributed AI to detect machine conditions at an early stage and improve maintenance decisions through data-driven insights.

Participation is free of charge, but places are limited.

Smart Manufacturing Pavilion

@ SEMICON Europa 2026

Nov 10–13, 2026
Messe München

The Smart Manufacturing Pavilion brings together leading innovators to accelerate the adoption of Industry 4.0 in semiconductor manufacturing. As part of the SEMI Smart Manufacturing Community, we are working with other partners to create a shared space for exchange, networking, and practical insights into data-driven manufacturing.

The focus lies on how connected data, automation, and AI enable more efficient, resilient, and scalable fab operations. Visitors gain practical perspectives on turning complex production environments into intelligent systems that deliver measurable impact.
