We also recommend attending the DMEA session where our colleague, Dr. Roswitha Gostner, will be giving a talk about:

“Enabling scalable healthcare applications through standard-driven tailoring of connectivity solutions in point-of-care scenarios”

The current healthcare application landscape requires medical device manufacturers to emphasize on cross-vendor data exchange and communication for their product development. Depending on the point-of-care scenario, manufacturers face considerable challenges in managing interfaces, information flow, and control restrictions while assuring a high degree of product quality. We propose a strategy to use the advantages of the applying the various healthcare standards in a consolidated way. We demonstrate that this standard-driven connectivity strategy can enhance product interaction, data flow, and control while unlocking new solutions for medical device manufacturers with better quality control.

Further highlights of the presentation:
Our intended solution leads to a streamlined connectivity strategy of medical device manufacturers. In this way, they can efficiently tailor and incorporate components of DICOM, FHIR, and IEEE 11073 SDC based on the demands of the target healthcare application and patient journey. The functional components are modular and can be customized to specific point-of-care requirements, ensuring interoperability between devices, applications, and systems. It also improves the alignment of the product lifecycle with quality assurance and harmonized standards.
Join the session to discover details and lessons learned based on practical experiences and an outlook on the future potential of the solution
