An alternative microsurgical visualization in time of COVID-19: 3D exoscope surgery

In response to the Covid-19 pandemic, infection preventive measures have been prioritized to reduce in-hospital transmission. Working in the operating room expose medical professionals to risk of infection and cross-contamination. The donning of PPEs, particularly the emphasis on full-face protection, has however presented a challenge of looking into the binocular eyepiece of an operative microscope. The use of alternative visualization platform to circumvent the said predicament is therefore essential to maintain an efficient and favorable surgical outcome.
