Key benefits of DORC EVA NEXUS cataract

Performance and control with VacuFlow VTi

At the heart of DORC EVA NEXUS is VacuFlow VTi - an advanced fluidics technology powered by Valve Timing Intelligence, delivering precise, pulsation‑free flow or fast, responsive vacuum, providing surgeons with improved efficiency and control throughout cataract procedures.1

Stability with SMART IOP for cataract surgery

Unique to DORC EVA NEXUS, SMART IOP automatically compensates for pressure losses to maintain a constant intraocular pressure. It delivers more stable, lower anterior chamber pressure and, with up to 73% higher responsiveness1 of the irrigation pressure to prevent large pressure changes ensures consistent stability throughout cataract procedures - even during post‑occlusion breaks.

DORC EVA SURE TOUCH PHACO

Compact, lightweight phaco handpiece designed to be more comfortable to hold and for easier manipulation during surgery.

DORC EVA EQUIPHACO

A full range of high performance phaco tips

Improved sleeve designed to maximize flow efficiency, resulting in optimized irrigation/aspiration balance.

In conjunction with the SMART IOP allows for more stable, lower anterior chamber pressure during procedures. Features increased tip diameter to improve holdability with a flared design, and to enhance emulsification effect and reduce phaco power.

  • Redesigned irrigation ports with increase in surface area to maximise irrigation flow
  • Optimized sleeve positioning with irrigation ports closer to the needle tip and reduced axial leakage
  • Increased sleeve stiffness and hardness to reduce flow resistance

Constant aspiration flow with a flared design to reduce clogging and surge effect.

Cataract grade selection

Up to four programmable cataract grade pre-sets, allow surgeons to select optimized phaco, aspiration, and irrigation settings, enabling a tailored approach for each surgical step and patient profile, with seamless activation via footswitch or screen.

Wireless dual linear footswitch

Customizable, programmable dual linear footswitch with independent control of aspiration and phaco power/cutting.

Workflow integration

As part of the ZEISS Cataract and Retina Workflows, DORC EVA NEXUS integrates across the broader ZEISS portfolio, connecting instruments, surgical dyes and IOLs within one consistent and coordinated surgical workflow.

Having relied on its predecessor, DORC EVA, in my cataract surgery cases for more than a decade, I recently began using DORC EVA NEXUS, the latest generation of the platform, and have already experienced the benefits of its innovations in my everyday surgical practice. DORC EVA NEXUS benefits everyone in the operating room; my staff and I feel more in control during surgery. I can switch seamlessly between Vacuum and Flow modes thanks to the unique VTi pump and stay in control of aspiration and phaco power using the wireless dual linear footswitch. With the SMART IOP system, I can maintain anterior chamber stability while keeping intraocular pressure at a moderate level throughout surgery, and the EquiPhaco tips and Multi Burst mode enable highly efficient lens removal with minimal phaco energy.
