1. Introduction

You want to ensure you see fantastic benefits from your new tools. With the new Licence Manager, you can trial ZEISS software packages at no cost. You can trial every software package once and, if you have any questions or would like to purchase a license, contact us and we’ll be happy to help.

2. What Is the Right Trial License for Me?

Depending on your instrument and the image analysis workflow you would like to test, you can choose from several ZEN and Labscope trial licenses and license bundles. You can use the following matrix to pick the right trial bundle for you:

ZEN (blue edition) Acquisition bundle	We have a microscope running ZEN (blue edition)*. I would like to unlock and test additional acquisition modules on the microscope that are currently not available.
ZEN (blue edition) Analysis Bundle	I would like to open files generated by ZEN (blue edition)* for further analysis on a computer that is not connected to a microscope. For this trial, I will install offline ZEN version (ZEN desk) on a computer with no existing licensed ZEN installation.
ZEN core Analysis Bundle	I would like to open files generated by ZEN core** for further analysis on a computer that is not connected to a microscope. For this trial, I will install an offline ZEN version (ZEN Analyzer) on a computer with no existing licensed ZEN installation.
ZEN core Acquisition Bundle	We have a microscope running ZEN core**. I would like to unlock and test additional acquisition modules on the microscope that are currently not available.
Labscope Module Fast Panorama Labscope Module Multi Channel	I would like to test advanced acquisition functionality on an existing Labscope installation.

ZEN License Bundles

We offer the following ZEN license bundle types:

Image Acquisition Trial Bundles are used to unlock additional functionality on your ZEN-driven ZEISS microscope. No new ZEN software must be installed for the trial; the license bundle will enable additional functionality within your existing ZEN installation.

Please note: unlocked functionality will correspond to your currently installed ZEN version, and not to the newest available ZEN version. This license bundle cannot be used to install ZEN on a new computer, or to upgrade an existing ZEN to the newest version.

Image Analysis Trial Bundles allow you to install an offline ZEN version (ZEN desk or ZEN Analyzer) on a computer that is not connected to a microscope. You can use any computer for the trial, as long as there is no existing licensed ZEN installed on it.

Each of the above bundles exists for ZEN (blue edition) and for ZEN core

Labscope Trial Licenses

Labscope Trial license allows you to temporarily unlock additional imaging functionality on your existing Labscope instrument.

3. Trial Process

After registering for a trial license, you will receive emails from us including a license activation information and software installation information. Next steps will depend on the product that you will test:

ZEN (blue edition) Acquisition bundle ZEN core Image Acquisition Trial Bundle	Register for a trial. Your trial license key will be delivered to your email. Activate licenses on your existing instrument according to the provided instructions.
ZEN (blue edition) Image Analysis Trial Bundle ZEN core Image Analysis Trial Bundle	Register for a trial. Your trial license key will be delivered to your email. Download ZEISS Microscopy Installer from ZEISS Portal Download Center on the computer that you picked for the trial. Use ZEISS Microscopy Installer to install ZEN (blue edition) or ZEN core on a computer with no active ZEN installation. Activate licenses on the new ZEN installation according to the provided instructions. Please note: Existing ZEN installation will be overwritten; do not use a computer with an existing licensed ZEN installation!
Labscope Module Fast Panorama Labscope Module Multi Channel	Register for a trial. Your trial license key will be delivered to your email. Open the Labscope module manager, click on “Free Trial or Purchase”, “Activate” and input the received license key.
