ZEISS Digital Classroom

Bring every student to the same field of view. In real time.
ZEISS Digital Classroom - Singapore

Connected, hands-on microscopy

Microscopy-based courses are built on hands-on exploration. Whether students share microscopes or work independently at individual stations, instructors work to ensure that every learner is focused on the right specimen area and building understanding with confidence. Maintaining that alignment across an entire lab can be challenging. Students may be viewing different regions of a specimen or unsure how to interpret subtle details, while instructors move between stations as valuable lab time moves quickly. ZEISS Digital Classroom connects microscopes across the lab through the ZEISS Labscope software platform, enabling instructors to see and share live images in real time. Demonstrate once and bring every student to the same field of view while moving freely throughout the classroom, maintaining visibility into student work and creating a more engaging learning experience. Students can capture, annotate, and document their work within the digital environment, supporting active participation and shared analysis.

Designed for higher education laboratories, Digital Classroom supports:

  • Clear alignment between instructor and student views
  • Greater instructor mobility and classroom engagement
  • Interactive discussion and collaboration
  • Efficient use of lab time and equipment
  • Flexible configurations for shared or individual microscopes

By connecting microscopes into a coordinated learning environment, Digital Classroom helps instructors teach with greater clarity while supporting meaningful student engagement.

A Heart for Science

A ZEISS initiative supporting STEM outreach

Inspiring students to see themselves in science

Early exposure to scientific tools can meaningfully influence how students see themselves in STEM. Through our ZEISS A Heart for Science initiative, we collaborate with educators and educational organizations to create hands-on outreach experiences that bring microscopy and scientific discovery within reach of young learners. These early moments of exploration make science tangible, relatable, and achievable.

Established in 2021, ZEISS A Heart for Science is a global initiative designed to spark curiosity and build foundational confidence in STEM subjects for students under 18. The program aims to broaden access to scientific learning opportunities, reduce barriers to engagement, and nurture long-term interest in science and technology. ZEISS employees around the world contribute their time and expertise through interactive experiments, workshops, classroom visits, and mentoring, helping to inspire the next generation of researchers and innovators.
