Exit pupil diameter and light transmittance

When daylight comes in through a window, the brightness in the room depends on two factors: the size of the window and the cleanliness or opacity of the glass. The same principles apply when we talk about the brightness of a pair of binoculars. ZEISS expert Walter Schwab, trainer at the academy, used this analogy to answer a nature lover's question.


Care of the Optics

Diopter Adjustment
