Manufacturing Excellence

Production & Manufacturing

In manufacturing, every detail matters. Every package, label, and verification step carries responsibility beyond the production floor. For Juan, that responsibility isn’t just part of the job, it’s a point of pride. Juan’s journey with ZEISS began over 11 years ago when he arrived in Tijuana from his hometown in Chiapas looking for career opportunities. Today, Juan works in the Shipping area, ensuring optical products leave the facility accurately packaged, properly documented, and delivered without error. The ZEISS lenses, he helps package and ship, improve vision for people across Mexico and the United States, making his role a critical final checkpoint before products reach customers.

Mastering the Process

Juan verifies prescriptions, production orders, packaging quality, and billing accuracy while coordinating closely with the Traffic team and international couriers to ensure customs compliance and on-time delivery. With little room for error, every shipment reflects ZEISS quality standards and customer trust.

His operational expertise comes from hands-on experience across the factory floor; from Lathe Tool Operator and Polishing to Backside, UV, and now Shipping. Each role added new technical skills, certifications, and responsibility. Today, he manages his area and supports packing operations as a certified team member which is a direct reflection of ZEISS’ strong culture of internal growth.

When the product leaves our hands, it represents ZEISS. It has to be right the first time.

Growing Skills, Building a Future

Before ZEISS, Juan worked in customer service with limited stability and growth. Through company support, he completed middle school and high school and this year plans to finish university. A flexible shift schedule allows him to continue studying while gaining exposure to engineering, logistics, and maintenance teams. Juan says, “That support motivates me to give my best every day.” Juan takes pride in knowing his work directly contributes to product quality, customer trust, and operational excellence. His personal motto reflects his resilience: “The best always comes from the worst. In life, there’s nothing bad that doesn’t leave something good.” For Juan, manufacturing isn’t just a job, it’s a craft, a responsibility, and a pathway to building a better future. At ZEISS, precision isn’t only engineered into products, it’s built every day by people like Juan.

The best always comes from the worst. In life, there’s nothing bad that doesn’t leave something good.
