vivo and ZEISS deepen global imaging collaboration

For one week in March 2024, vivo senior executives visited the ZEISS headquarters in Oberkochen, Germany. Dr. Karl Lamprecht, President and CEO of the ZEISS Group, welcomed Hu Baishan, Executive Vice President & COO at vivo and President of vivo Central Research Institute, Yu Meng, Vice President of Imaging at vivo, and Jia Jingdong, Vice President of Branding at vivo, as well as further senior executives and emphasised the importance and commitment of the partnership and joint co-engineering efforts.

The global strategic imaging partnership between vivo and ZEISS has entered its fourth year and has been a highly trusted partnership from the very beginning. Together the two companies have reached several milestones in mobile imaging, always focusing on the promise given at the announcement of the partnership in 2020: to bring more professional features to smartphones, to fulfill highest quality standards, and to strive for innovation with value-add for users.

Starting with the X60 series, proven ZEISS technologies were adapted for vivo’s flagships from generation-to-generation. Signature technologies, that are closely tied to the ZEISS photography and imaging expertise, are implemented to vivo flagship and top-level smartphones. Both parties share common corporate culture values, a long-term orientation and a commitment to quality and technology.

The visit has further deepened the cooperation and set the ground for the future collaboration. The agenda reflected the core topics of the joint ambition for innovation. The intensive management and R&D meetings and discussions were accompanied and rounded out by presentations from Corporate R&D, further ZEISS segments and projects and exchange with several ZEISS business units, showcasing the diverse fields of ZEISS groups products, solutions and competencies. Both companies jointly explored the possibility of technology collaboration in various professional fields. vivo proposed key projects and co-working methods, while ZEISS will contribute its imaging expertise.

Meanwhile, the newly introduced V 30 Pro and upcoming X-series products that will be launched in the first half of 2024 are further pinnacles of the collaboration in the field of mobile imaging. In the future, vivo and ZEISS will continue to bring more meaningful innovations to users worldwide.
