ZEISS Hunting

A successful buck season.

With ZEISS riflescopes and binoculars.

For many, the challenge of accurately determining a roebuck’s age is what makes hunting them so appealing. Another difficulty is that in many European countries, hunting roebucks at night is not permitted.

Always take the time to reliably identify your target. Factors such as body build, coloration, antler shedding, and the roebuck’s behavior can provide clues to its age. If you cannot be certain that the animal is a suitable target, it is better not to shoot.

In addition to improving your skills and being well-prepared, choosing the right equipment is crucial for a successful hunt, especially given the restrictions on night hunting. Select equipment that suits the conditions of the hunting ground and your preferred hunting style to effectively overcome these challenges.

When stalking game, every gram counts.

Which binoculars are best for stalking a buck?

As daylight fades and darkness falls, it becomes increasingly difficult to identify animals accurately. However, binoculars with a 50 mm objective lens diameter, such as the ZEISS Victory SFL 50, can significantly enhance your viewing experience. The larger lens allows more light to enter, improving visibility in low-light conditions and helping you capture more detail as animals become active at dusk. The ZEISS Victory SFL 50 combines the performance of 50 mm optics with the compactness of 42 mm models through an optimized design featuring thinner lens elements and minimized distances. The magnesium housing ensures durability with low weight and allows for comfortable, long-term use without fatigue.

What is the right equipment?

Unlock the secret to choosing the perfect binoculars for your next roe deer hunting adventure by mastering the crucial relationship between objective lens diameter, light transmission, and exit pupil size - because when it comes to visibility, every detail counts! As technology continues to advance, many hunters are left wondering what equipment they actually still need. We're here to help you answer those questions.

What is the best riflescope for stalking?

Higher magnifications are typically characteristic of riflescopes for stalking. Thanks to a large field of view of 23 meters at 100 meters at the lowest magnification, the highest optical quality with a relaxed viewing experience, and the low weight, the ZEISS V8 1.8-14x50 is perfectly suited for stalking.

With the integrated parallax compensation, you can address the target even more precisely. In this process, the objective is focused to the correct distance, that is, the image is shifted back into the reticle plane. This offers the advantage of a sharp image. In addition, no parallax error occurs even with an angled view. With a light transmission of 92 percent, the ZEISS V8 1.8-14x50 also offers sufficient light reserves at dusk.

Does a high transmission rate also mean more light inside the scope?

In many areas, roe deer are becoming increasingly elusive due to the growing impact of recreational activities on natural habitats, and they only emerge in the last light of day or early in the morning before sunrise. In such situations, high-quality hunting optics are essential for spotting them. With 92% light transmission, ZEISS V8 riflescopes offer ample reserve light even in the dimmest conditions.

If longer shooting distances need to be covered, as is often the case in expansive open-country hunting grounds, a rifle scope with high magnification is recommended. Thanks to its specifications, the ZEISS V8 2.8–20x56 is suitable for any distance and any hunting situation.

It's the transmission that makes the difference.

The ZEISS T* coating takes into account the eye’s increased sensitivity to blue light in low-light conditions, thereby optimizing light transmission when it is needed most. The result is bright and razor-sharp images. This is achieved by coating the lens surfaces with extremely thin layers of selected materials. This alters the transition from air to glass, thereby reducing reflections. However, there is no fixed formula for the coating structure; rather, it is a technology that is constantly adapted to new glass materials and requirements and varies from lens to lens.

What makes a good allrounder rifle scope?

Hunters who primarily hunt from a blind are best served by a versatile rifle scope with a wide magnification range and a large objective lens diameter, such as the ZEISS Conquest V6 2–12x50. This compact and versatile rifle scope is a reliable companion in the hunting grounds.

It combines proven ZEISS quality with state-of-the-art technology and a robust, functional design - all at an excellent price-performance ratio. The use of fluoride-containing glass and high light transmission ensure image brightness and optimal target resolution. The basic prerequisite for a clean shot.
