We are informing you about the latest updates on a potentially severe issue caused by the Windows 11 Updates KB5077181/KB5074105 in combination with a third-party component in ZEISS INSPECT / ZEISS CORRELATE 2025 (Service Pack 1 or 2) and older versions. Our recommendation is to always install the latest software version.

Overview:
After installing the Windows 11 Updates KB5077181/KB5074105, it might not be possible to use ZEISS INSPECT / ZEISS CORRELATE 2025 (Service Pack 1 or 2) or older versions causing a service disruption.

Update:
We have now released a Service Pack 5 Patch 1 to fix this issue with ZEISS INSPECT / ZEISS CORRELATE 2023. Please note, that the Service Pack 5 Patch 1 is provided “AS IS”.

Recommendations: We recommend to always keep your ZEISS INSPECT / ZEISS CORRELATE Software up to date

  • ZEISS INSPECT / ZEISS CORRELATE 2023:
    • Install ZEISS INSPECT / ZEISS CORRELATE Service Pack 5 Patch 1 (follow the download link) or update to the latest ZEISS INSPECT / ZEISS CORRELATE 2026 software version.
  • Versions prior to 2023:
    • Avoid or uninstall the Windows 11 Update – contact your IT department to avoid or uninstall the Windows 11 Updates KB5077181/KB5074105, if possible (more information on Microsoft Support Page).
    • We always recommend to update to the latest ZEISS INSPECT / ZEISS CORRELATE 2026 software version.
  • ZEISS INSPECT / ZEISS CORRELATE 2025 Service Pack 1 or Service Pack 2: install Service Pack 3 before initiating Windows 11 Updates KB5077181/KB5074105.
  • ZEISS INSPECT / ZEISS CORRELATE 2026 and ZEISS INSPECT / ZEISS CORRELATE 2025 Service Pack 3: no issues expected.

  • So far, we are not aware that other products than ZEISS INSPECT / ZEISS CORRELATE are affected from issues connected with Windows 11 Update KB5077181/KB5074105 and the third-party component.

Potential Solutions

  • Service Packs / Patches for ZEISS INSPECT / ZEISS CORRELATE are available via the ZEISS Portal.

    For installing a Service Pack via the ZEISS Portal follow those links:

    • Postpone the Windows 11 Update until further notice – to do so contact your IT-department, or uninstall Windows 11 Update KB5077181/KB5074105, if possible.
    • Update to the latest ZEISS INSPECT / ZEISS CORRELATE 2026 software version.
  • For ZEISS INSPECT 2023 we have issued Service Pack 5 Patch 1 to resolve the issue. Please note, that the Service Pack 5 Patch 1 is provided “AS IS”. We are closely monitoring the situation and keeping you informed.

    Generally, it is always the safest and best alternative to update to the latest software version (which is ZEISS INSPECT / ZEISS CORRELATE 2026).

Implications

  • No issues are known – the software will work as expected.

  • To avoid the malfunction, it is necessary to update to ZEISS INSPECT / ZEISS CORRELATE Service Pack 3. Or in the case of a valid Software Maintenance Agreement update to ZEISS INSPECT / ZEISS CORRELATE 2026. In case you have any questions, please contact your sales representative / support.

  • Customers can use the Service Pack 5 Patch 1 (2023.7.1.6) for ZEISS INSPECT / ZEISS CORRELATE 2023, which is now available and can be installed via the ZEISS PortalPlease note, that the Service Pack 5 Patch 1 is provided “AS IS”. Our recommendation is to always install the latest Software version.   • For GOM Software 2022 and older:It is recommended to update to ZEISS INSPECT / ZEISS CORRELATE 2026 or postpone the Windows 11 Update KB5077181/KB5074105.

Software Versions

    1. Open ZEISS Quality Suite
    2. Go "All Applications". There you find the overview of installed software.

    3. Open one Software Package by click on “Start”

    4. If the software is unresponsive, you can compare the Product Version (e.g. 2025.3.1.6 with the Release Notes ZEISS Portal)

    5. Go to “Help” & “About ZEISS INSPECT”

    1. Open Settings:
      Click on the Start menu (Windows icon) in the bottom-left corner of your screen.
      Select the gear icon to open Settings.
    2. Go to “Update & Security”:
      In the Settings window, click on "Update & Security".
    3. Select “Windows Update”:
      From the left-hand menu, select "Windows Update".
    4. View Update History:
      Click on “View update history”. Here, you will see a list of installed updates, including security updates, quality updates, and driver updates.
    5. Details of Updates:
      You can click on individual updates to get more information, such as the release date and the KB number (KB5074105).
  • Windows KB5074105 was an optional, non-security preview, released on the fourth Tuesday of January 2026.

    Windows KB5074105 is included in the Latest Cumulative Update (LCU) which was released on Feb. 10th 2026. The LCU (KB5077181) is security-focused, confirmed, and includes all applicable security fixes as well as previously released non-security enhancements.
