ZEISS PiWeb option for dynamization

Make every inspection count.

Focus inspection resources where they matter most

Effective quality control requires the inspection scope to reflect the current quality situation. The dynamization option in ZEISS PiWeb (for manual or CMM measurements) helps you make the most of your available inspection capacity by concentrating measurement efforts on the characteristics that matter most in the current situation.

How dynamization with ZEISS PiWeb works

Turn the intended inspection scope into a quality-adapted scope for every measurement run.

Shaping inspection execution

The dynamization option in ZEISS PiWeb turns the intended inspection scope defined by the inspection plan into a quality-adapted scope for every measurement run. It evaluates the current quality conditions of each characteristic and determines the required scope for the current situation. Instead of always measuring the complete characteristic scope, inspection execution is focused on the characteristics that require attention now. This helps reduce measurement time while ensuring that quality drives the focus of every inspection run.

The workflow

Configure, simulate and optimize once. Execute consistently, run after run.

1. Configure the rule set

Model the decision logic

Define rules, conditions and mandatory measurements based on relevant production attributes. The result is a draft rule set that reflects the inspection strategy for your production environment.

2. Simulate and optimize

Validate the efficiency-risk balance

Replay the draft rule set on historical quality data before using it in live inspection. The simulation helps quantify potential time savings, understand how the inspection scope would behave and check the impact on historical nonconforming results. Based on these insights, the rule set can be optimized and validated until the perfect rule set is achieved.

3. Dynamize

Determine and run the current scope

Once validated, the defined rule set generates a quality-adapted selection for every measurement run. The selected scope can be run in ZEISS CALYPSO for automated execution or executed manually with ZEISS PiWeb Monitor. Every measure-or-skip decision is recorded and can be reviewed, while process stability can be monitored continuously.

Your advantages at a glance

  • Increase quality coverage

Inspect more parts, variants and characteristics without expanding inspection capacity. Focus available resources on the quality requirements that matter most.

  • Accelerate release decisions

Make release-relevant measurement results available sooner by prioritizing the characteristics required for production, shipment and downstream manufacturing processes.

  • Respond earlier to process changes

Provide production teams with relevant quality information sooner, enabling faster responses to changing process conditions and emerging quality risks.

Potential application scenarios
