Anterior segment analysis

ZEISS VISUREF 1000 gives you essential tools to assess the anterior segment of the eye, so that you can efficiently capture images and obtain crucial information about the eye’s structures.

Advanced objective refraction:

  • Objective day and night refraction measurements
  • Shack-Hartmann Wavefront Aberrometry
  • Measures lower-order and higher-order aberrations

Additional measurement capabilities:

  • Corneal topography
    • Including keratoconus probability index (KPI) and corneal aberrometry
  • Retroillumination
    • For visualisation of lens opacity
  • Non-Invasive break-up time (NIBUT)
    • Measurement and analysis of tear film quality and stability
  • Colour image
    • With grading scales for meibomian gland area assessment and tear meniscus height measurement
Posterior segment analysis.

Posterior segment analysis

The ZEISS VISUREF 1000 includes advanced posterior-segment functions, allowing for high-resolution imaging and detailed assessment of the retina and optic nerve head. This aids in the diagnosis and monitoring of various retinal conditions such as glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, or age-related macular degeneration, among many others.

Measurement Capabilities:

  • Non-contact tonometer
    • Measurement of Intraocular Pressure (IOP)
  • Scheimpflug camera for pachymetry
    • Measuring and displaying of corneal thickness and the iridio angle; automated IOP correction
  • Non-Mydiatric fundus imaging
    • 45° angle of view with cup/disc (C/D) ratio measurement

Personalised care with individual solutions

ZEISS VISUREF 1000 opens the door to additional custom-tailored solutions for your customers. In addition to lenses optimised with ZEISS i.Scription, the system gives you insights that can help you select the right contact lenses, make appropriate referrals, screen for dry eyes, and more. ZEISS enables precise, accurate detection – and you the right solution for each detected issue.

  • 85%

of customers say that individual treatment is a key driver for them.1

  • 95%

of wearers prefer lenses optimised with ZEISS i.Scription technology over ZEISS free-form lenses without ZEISS i.Scription.2

  • Icon eye with fingerprint in front of it.

    Individualised i.Scription lenses by ZEISS

With ZEISS VISUREF 1000, your practice can provide premium lens prescriptions optimised with ZEISS i.Scription technology. Each individual receives a unique lens solution that gives improved vision, day and night. ZEISS lenses made with ZEISS i.Scription reduce glare, add brilliance, and sharpen contrast.

  • Icon eye with waterdrop in front of it.

    Dry eye screening

Dry eye is a common condition, and with increased screen time, advancing population age, and various environmental factors, it is becoming even more common. VISUREF® 1000 incorporates various measurements used to screen for Dry Eyes: Non-Invasive Break-Up Time (NIBUT), Scleral picture with Efron Grading Scale for Meibomian Gland Assessment, grading of level of redness and overall quality of the eye and lids and measurement of tear meniscus height.

  • Icon eye with contact lens in front of it.

    Contact lens fitting

ZEISS VISUREF 1000 provides corneal topography results for precise contact lens fitting. Use this along with the unit’s dry eye assessment capability to make fine-tuned contact lens recommendations for each customer.
