See You in Class: ZEISS Vision Care Italy education initiative in primary schools

ZEISS aims to reaffirm its commitment to prevention and visual health education among new generations
2 June 2025

The second edition of "See You in Class," the educational campaign by ZEISS Vision Care Italy, which reached 21,995 children aged between 6 and 9 years old, was a success in terms of enthusiasm and participation. For the new edition (2025-2026), ZEISS aims to reaffirm its commitment to prevention and visual health education among new generations, focusing on building a future where visual well-being is truly within everyone's reach.

The second edition of "See You in Class," the initiative promoted by ZEISS Vision Care Italy for primary school students, has officially ended in June 2025. This initiative aims to bring visual health education to primary schools across Italy, teaching the importance of taking good care of our vision from the early years of our life and through different places and times (at school, at home, while playing or studying).
The 2024/2025 edition achieved impressive numbers: over 22,000 students at primary schools across Italy participated in an educational program designed by ZEISS Vision Care Italy to raise awareness of the importance of visual health from a young age.

Through an engaging educational kit, offered by ZEISS to the entire class or school that decided to join the initiative, students were able to discover how the human eye works, why it's important to have regular eye checks, and how to protect their eyes in everyday life, including school desks, screens, and outdoor activities. The kit is available both in a printed version (including a big poster for the class walls) and in a digital version: both providing children with a scientific yet accessible and fun approach to important themes such as visual health and eye structure.

Each year the project culminates in a small but creative contest, where children are invited to submit an artistic work inspired by themes such as sight, vision, glasses, and prevention. Over 130 entries were received, demonstrating great enthusiasm, imagination, and originality. The three winning classes were selected by ZEISS Vision Care Italy colleagues and the prizes (including an anatomical model of the human eye and other kits for educational activities) were awarded to three primary schools.

The results of this year’s edition far exceeded expectations: the previous edition (2023/2024) involved approximately 12,500 children, while the 2024/2025 edition involved almost double. September will see the relaunch of the initiative (2025/2026) with a higher number of children expected to join the project, with teachers and families playing an even more important and active role.
