Fast performance

Speed that keeps your workflow moving

The VISUMAX® 600 from ZEISS combines speed and precision to support fast lenticule creation for KLEx with ZEISS SMILE pro and precise flaps for Femto-LASIK.

The 2 MHz laser pulse repetition rate, combined with a high-performance laser scanning system, makes it possible to create a lenticule in less than 10 seconds1 and a flap incision in around 5 seconds2.

Precision-guided assistance

ZEISS VISUMAX 600 incorporates computer-assisted guidance functions designed to support centration and cyclotorsion alignment. By assisting with critical treatment steps while maintaining surgeon control, these technologies help support precision throughout the procedure.

The CentraLign® assistant system supports centration by utilizing the pupil center and vertex position during the docking process. This provides you with valuable guidance before treatment begins and helps support a structured workflow.

The OcuLign® pattern rotation system supports cyclotorsion alignment by turning the treatment pattern according to the required rotational adjustment, helping to counter any cyclotorsion that may occur.

Versatile procedures

One device. Multiple possibilities.

With ZEISS VISUMAX 600, you can benefit from a variety of corneal refractive procedures. The Keratorefractive Lenticule Extraction (KLEx) option with ZEISS SMILE pro allows you to confidently treat eligible patients with myopia and astigmatism, while the flap option enables Femto-LASIK procedures, including ZEISS PRESBYOND performed with ZEISS MEL 90.

Optional applications such as intracorneal ring procedures and keratoplasty further extend the device's capabilities, providing flexibility across many clinical indications. This versatility allows you to address different patient needs while expanding the capabilities of your refractive practice.

Easy patient access

With comfort and control

While the patient lies on the patient support system, you have full control over the position of the device. Without the need to move the patient, the laser arm can be easily brought into the working position for surgery.

Tracking distances

Positioning made easy

Ultrasound sensors assist in actuating the laser arms while integrated top-view, side-view, and therapy cameras allow you to ergonomically observe the surgical environment between the device and patient.

Additionally, height tracking assists suction stability by tracking the device head relative to the patient’s eye during laser treatment.

Highlight your practice

With customized laser arm illumination

Whether you want to match the device to your clinic’s corporate identity or give patients a choice that provides them a better visual comfort, you can choose from eight different illumination colors for the laser arm.

FAQs

  • The ZEISS VISUMAX 600 is a femtosecond laser for refractive procedures, including Keratorefractive Lenticule Extraction (KLEx) with ZEISS SMILE pro and flap cut for Femto-LASIK. Available procedures depend on local regulatory approvals and system configuration.

  • ZEISS SMILE pro is a solution for minimally invasive Keratorefractive Lenticule Extraction (KLEx) performed with the ZEISS VISUMAX 600 or VISUMAX 800. The laser creates a corneal lenticule, which the surgeon removes through a small incision to correct vision.

  • The ZEISS VISUMAX 600 features a 2 MHz laser pulse repetition rate and can create the lenticule in less than 10 seconds2. Overall procedure time depends on patient preparation, centration, docking, and the surgical workflow.

  • More than 15 million Keratorefractive Lenticule Extraction (KLEx) treatments with ZEISS SMILE and SMILE pro have been performed worldwide (as of September 2026), reflecting extensive global clinical experience with ZEISS lenticule extraction technology.

  • Yes, SMILE pro supports Keratorefractive Lenticule Extraction (KLEx) procedure and is performed exclusively with a femtosecond laser. It removes a corneal lenticule through a small incision. LASIK, on the other hand, requires flap creation and excimer laser ablation.

  • CentraLign® is a computer-controlled function that supports centration during docking with ZEISS VISUMAX 600. OcuLign® supports cyclotorsion compensation during treatment planning and surgery. Availability and functionality may vary by market, software version and system configuration.

  • The system can support a variety of refractive procedures and efficient treatment workflows.

  • The ZEISS VISUMAX 600 has a compact design, offering flexibility when integrating the system into existing surgical workflows. Compatibility should be confirmed for the specific configuration.

  • ZEISS offers training and education opportunities, including peer-to-peer training, wet labs and visits to reference sites to support the adoption of ZEISS SMILE pro.
