ZEISS VISUMAX 800 is a femtosecond laser platform for refractive eye surgery designed to improve surgical efficiency, precision, and workflow integration. It enables fast lenticule and flap creation, and supports procedures such as KLEx with SMILE pro, Femto-LASIK, Arcuate Incisions, ICR tunnel incisions and keratoplasty. It also includes advanced assistance features for cyclotorsion alignment and centration support. Increased laser frequency for faster cut speeds

The improved laser pulse repetition rate of 2 MHz, combined with a high-performance laser scanning system, makes it possible to create a lenticule in less than 10 seconds2 and a flap incision in around 5 seconds3.

With a faster laser speed, a shorter suction time is expected, which can increase your peace of mind and reduce stress for you and your patients during the treatment.

CentraLign auto and OcuLign

Easy cyclotorsion alignment and little effort during centration

The CentraLign® assistant system is a computer-controlled function for easy centration. It uses the pupil center and vertex position, giving you full control of centration already during the docking phase. And because the centering of the eye is assisted before docking, it enables a smooth docking process.

Now available: With the new CentraLign auto, the device can be guided to autonomously reduce detected centration deviations by laterally moving the laser head before docking.

The intuitive OcuLign® pattern rotation system offers a new experience with cyclotorsion alignment. Based on a static iris image from a diagnostic device, OcuLign automatically recalculates the treatment pattern and suggests a degree of cyclotorsion adjustment.

You can perform a variety of refractive procedures with a single device, bringing versatility to your practice and reducing the need for different lasers.

  • SMILE pro – for KLEx

    With SMILE® pro, you can offer Keratorefractive Lenticule Extraction (KLEx) to eligible patients with myopia, hyperopia and astigmatism. In this procedure, a lenticule is created inside the cornea. Through a small incision, this lenticule is then removed to achieve the desired vision correction.

  • Flap cut – for Femto-LASIK

    For LASIK treatments, ZEISS VISUMAX 800 enables fast, highly precise flap creation. You can apply your own flap configuration, including adjustable flap diameter, thickness, hinge position, and side-cut angle. Its high cutting precision supports easy flap lifting.

  • Tunnel incisions – for ICR

    ZEISS VISUMAX 800 is also well suited for creating precise, flexible corneal tunnels for Intracorneal Ring Implantation (ICR). It supports different cutting geometries and tunnel segments to meet the requirements of various ring segment types.

  • Keratoplasty – for corneal transplant

    With the keratoplasty option, ZEISS VISUMAX 800 supports several corneal transplant procedures. It enables smooth lamellar and circular incisions for Penetrating Keratoplasty (PKP) and Anterior Lamellar Keratoplasty (ALK). High-precision, fast incision creation supports efficient preparation of corneal grafts and recipient corneas.

  • CIRCLE – for retreatment

    When retreatment is needed, the software option CIRCLE from ZEISS converts the initial cap created with SMILE or SMILE pro into a flap. The retreatment can then be performed as a LASIK procedure, for example with ZEISS MEL 90.

Arcuate incisions

With the new arcuate incisions option, ZEISS VISUMAX 800 can precisely place up to two arc-shaped incisions in the corneal periphery to relax the steep meridian.

Planning parameters include incision depth, length, and inclination, with both penetrating and intrastromal arcuate incisions supported.

As part of the ZEISS VISUMAX 800, the ZEISS OPMI surgical microscope contributes to precise visual control during manual surgical manipulation of the cornea.

It offers five levels of magnification, integrated slit illumination with two different slit widths for quick checks and includes a digital video camera for recording surgical procedures.

While the patient lies on the patient support system, you have full control over the position of the device. Without the need to move the patient, either the laser arm or OPMI arm can be easily brought into the working position for surgery.

Ultrasound sensors assist in actuating the laser arms while integrated top-view, side-view, and therapy cameras allow you to ergonomically observe the surgical environment between the device and patient.

Additionally, height tracking assists suction stability by tracking the device head relative to the patient’s eye during laser treatment.

Before and after laser vision correction treatments, all relevant operating procedure documentation, including all videos, is assigned to each respective patient, and stored after confirmation in ZEISS FORUM.
