More insight with every pass

See what’s happening – and act instantly

HALOS® delivers live nutrient and constituent data as you work. Whether you’re chopping silage, applying slurry or harvesting grain, the sensor gives you precise readings in real time – helping you adjust on the move to improve quality and reduce waste. No more guesswork or time-consuming lab samples. Just the information you need, when and where you need it.

NIR, perfected by ZEISS

Proven technology built on decades of experience
Sensor measures crops in a spout

The incoming light is manipulated by the sample through sample-specific reflection and absorption, allowing the ingredient to be analyzed.

Sensor measures crops in a spout

Near-infrared (NIR) spectroscopy uses wavelengths between roughly 780 and 2,500 nanometers to capture and analyze the properties of materials. By examining how substances absorb and reflect light in this range, NIR sensors can determine key chemical and physical attributes, including moisture, fat content and nutrient composition, without damaging the material. This makes NIR especially valuable in industries like food, pharmaceuticals and agriculture.

ZEISS has been putting NIR technology to work for decades – not just in controlled environments, but on real agricultural machinery in real working conditions. From precision optics and calibration to software, integration and field validation, we develop the full range of technology in-house and understand exactly how each component interacts. HALOS® brings all of that expertise into one practical, rugged solution that’s easy to install, simple to use and built to last.

The sensor delivers continuous, accurate readings of dry matter, protein, starch, oil, moisture and more – all while the machine is in motion, under load and across changing field conditions. Backed by ZEISS calibration and engineering, the data is consistently accurate and ready to support daily decisions in the field.

Smarter use of resources

Applied precision – for better performance at harvest

With HALOS®, fertilizer and additive use is guided by combining real-time constituent data with GPS data. That means better coverage where it’s needed, less where it’s not. This saves money, improves outcomes and supports long-term soil health. Over time, consistent data also helps you identify yield trends and make strategic decisions across your fields.

HALOS® benefits

Built to work where you do

Rugged, tested and ready for the field

HALOS® is built to handle tough environments like shock, vibration, dust and challenging weather. Tested for years in real conditions, it fits right into your machine network and starts delivering value on day one. Whether it’s mounted on a spout, a pipe or used in a feed lab setup, it’s ready to go and easy to trust.

We greatly appreciate the quality and the reliable performance
of the ZEISS calibrations and the NIR sensor HALOS®.
