Robust solutions even for demanding inspection tasks

For the early sorting of defective components and close monitoring of production processes, 3D data must be analyzed quickly and reliably. Yet CT data is often affected by noise and artifacts, making reliable defect detection more difficult. Traditional software reaches its limits here. Volume Inspection AI provides the solution: Seamlessly integrated into your workflow with ZEISS INSPECT X-Ray, the app detects defects at a human level and solves previously unsolvable tasks. Develop your solutions quickly and reliably — without AI expertise. Pre-trained AI models and intuitive training of your own models make AI accessible and efficient. Experience precision and speed in a combination like never before.

Versatile applications for different industry requirements

Volume Inspection AI supports demanding quality standards, for example in the automotive, electronics, and medical industries — and many more. For instance, hidden defects that pose a risk to component stability and functionality can be detected early, quickly, and reliably using industrial computed tomography and AI, even with poor image quality. Automated volume inspection also enables in-line inspection, for example in battery manufacturing, including anode overhang measurement. Inspecting complex assemblies for completeness or analyzing solder joints in electronic components to detect gas inclusions or other defects are also possible applications.

Use AI models or train your own

  • Visualize data and define training data

After acquisition, your data is visualized and can be analyzed in ZEISS INSPECT. Identify and mark the relevant areas.

  • Select an AI model or start training

Select a pre-trained model or create a new project on the ZEISS Quality AI platform. Import the training data directly from your computer or from an existing project.

  • Annotation: how the AI learns

Mark relevant image areas quickly and easily. Repeat the process by reviewing and correcting annotations until the model achieves the desired accuracy and performance.

  • Train your AI model and download the model

Your custom model is trained in the background. Download the optimized model for local execution in ZEISS INSPECT.

  • Run the AI model

Defect detection is executed with high precision and speed in the local production environment. This automates your workflow.
