Winner of the Reinhard von Koenig Prize for Technology and Progress
For the development of High-NA-EUV lithography, ZEISS SMT, together with TRUMPF, was honored with the Reinhard von Koenig Prize for Technology and Progress. We will donate the share of the prize money amounting to 5,000 euros to the explorhino Science Center in Aalen – to promote young STEM talents.

Awarded with the "Werner von Siemens Ring"
A ring for thousands of hands – In 2024, ZEISS and TRUMPF were honored with the "Werner von Siemens Ring" for the development of High-NA-EUV lithography and for the industrial utilization of the EUV technology. On behalf of the entire teams, Dr. Peter Kürz (ZEISS SMT) and Dr. Michael Kösters (TRUMPF) accepted the award. As one of the highest German scientific and technical awards, the "Werner von Siemens Ring" recognizes individuals who have significantly advanced technical sciences through their achievements or have opened new paths as researchers.

Winner of the German Future Prize 2020
After more than 25 years of intensive, collaborative development work, European companies and research institutions have brought the revolutionary manufacturing technology for powerful microchips to series production: EUV lithography. Since 2018, world market leaders like Samsung and TSMC have been producing their most advanced chips based on this new process; smartphones with microchips manufactured using EUV lithography have been on the mass market since autumn 2019.
