During CNC machining of pressure die-cast tools and electrodes, wax patterns and ceramic core dies as well as sand core boxes, early control of each manufacturing step by comparing nominal and actual data reduces iteration loops, especially for multiple cavities. Improved planning of repairs by determining lifetime and tool service life. Machining areas on components which demand welding or rework by metal cutting are marked by back projection of isolines from a nominal-actual comparison. Later tool corrections can be easily archived in a digital format. This saves time and storage space.
