Abstract

Are You Missing the Bigger Picture? Don't Let Your Sample Size Limit Your Discoveries

The demand for contextual data in larger specimens, both live and fixed, has led to a significant increase in the use of samples such as zebrafish, Drosophila, organoids and cleared tissue for probing cellular and subcellular structure and function. Capturing meaningful 3D datasets in such samples is challenging due to limitations in depth penetration, long acquisition times and significant phototoxic burden. Light sheet technology not only increases your image capture rate in larger living samples but also in fixed and cleared tissue and the resolution now made possible by advances in optics is generating impactful results. Making use of this powerful imaging modality for both live and fixed samples all in the same instrument really diversifies the applications and users that can benefit and ensures that the system is always used to full capacity.

Key Learnings:

  • Learn how light sheet technology is revolutionizing imaging of whole, living specimens such as zebrafish, Drosophila and organoids as well as cleared tissue such as brain and kidney
  • See ZEISS Lightsheet 7 in action and get a feel for how easy it is to get started
  • Hear from the experts how the imaging demands of live and cleared specimens have driven the development of unique optics for ZEISS Lightsheet 7
